I am a Consultant Psychiatrist, Visiting Professor and Senior Lecturer based in
Leeds, London and Harrogate. I have an international reputation in Adult Psychiatry and eating disorders. I have a research portfolio addressing traumatic stress,
eating disorders, affective disorders, risk management, morbid obesity, mental capacity, psychological medicine, and body
image disorders.
I chair the Royal College of Psychiatrists' Patient Safety group and
the Royal College of Psychiatrists' Eating Disorders section. I have been awarded the Ralph Noble Prize for research by Cambridge
University. I am a member of the Eating Disorder Research Society.
